Zion's Camping Trip

Family, Fire, Treats, Tents, Hoodies, Easter Eggs, Scooter, Biking, Hiking... All of those things put a smile on my face! Our camping trip was perfect! The family was nice enough to watch our boys so Tommy and I started the trip out with a bike ride from the campground up to the end of the road at the Narrows. Then we had incredible fajitas for dinner, top that off with pudding cake and smores. My sister-in-law Amy came up with a new way to eat your roasted marshmallows. Once your marshmallow is big and puffy you pull it off the roasting stick and push a chunk of chocolate in the middle of it, let it sit for a few seconds and you've got yourself what might possible be the best roasted marshmallow ever (especially if you buy the carmel marshmallows). The next morning Noah made breakfast to pass off a scout requirement. We did sticky buns which was an experiment, one that needs work, but they were pretty good. The mountain man breakfast was yummy! I love food camping, I always look forward to those thing you only make while camping. Then we went on our few regular hikes and the day was pretty much over and the kids were wiped out. A quick stop by menchies ice cream in St. George was the perfect way to end the trip!Grandpa telling Cooper stories
Noah, Cooper, and Brooke hanging out
Amy teaching us how to make the perfect marshmallow... oh how I wish I could eat one now.
Grandpa cruzing up the trail!!! What a beautiful day!

Once again I took a ton of pictures. So here's a slide show with a whole bunch more.

Quick little trip

We had a trip planned to go camping in Zion's over Easter weekend and last minute decided as long as we're driving down lets make it more of a vacation. So we left a couple days early and stayed down in St. George. It was the best thing for the boys. The weather has been so cold and I think it was starting to really effect them. Noah couldn't stop talking about how thankful he was that we got away and he got to go swimming. That's why we decided to make it all about the boys... so there was a lot of swimming and french fries!!! It was such a great little get away. This picture just makes me laugh. I love Noah all loaded up... he was also carrying Tyson's floaty, but wouldn't hold it for the picture.
Tyson loved swimming. The pool was so warm the boys just stayed in there for hours.
The fam
Cooper was so brave this trip. I'm so proud of him!
Gotta love those goggles!
They all wanted to watch a movie after swimming!

Tyson...

Yes another picture of Tyson... he's just so cute and we're together all day, so I seem to get more pictures of him. This is how I found him one morning, just chillin' out in my bed playing my iphone in his new Buzz pajamas.

April Fools

I think April Fools is such a random Holiday... but I decided to join in this year. Kiara and I got in my Mom's car and messed with all her setting, had the radio going full blast, windshield wipers, etc. Then Noah got his cereal, but the spoon had been frozen in the milk the night before so when he tried to eat it the whole bowl of cereal was stuck to the spoon... Cooper and I laughed harder about it than Noah did. Then to end out the day we filled my Mom's room with everything we could possibly find. We set up the boys table on her bed, put stuffed animals around it... As you can see in the picture below we had a lot of fun.

Cooper's field trip

Cooper's pre-school class went to the post office for their field trip. I was lucky enough to be one of the drivers. I just love watching what these adorable kids get all excited about. Plus it was really fun to go behind the counter and see how it all works. I can't say enough how grateful I am for Miss Jenny and all of Cooper's friends. He truly is such a lucky kid to be surround by so many good kids... I just love the picture below!

Visitor from Oregon

My Aunt Dawn came out for a quick visit so we got the family together for dinner. We set up the projector in our living room and looked through pictures and just hung out a visited. It's always so much fun to get together with family, especially when you don't get to see them very often. The whole group (excluding Tommy, he took the picture)

"Tyson Paul Peterson"

Tyson! T. Paul! Tycey Poo! What more can I say... Tyson is by far our most adventurous kid so far. He's so dang funny and lovable, and he uses that to his advantage. As you can see from the pictures below he's into everything, but when he gives you that cute little smile ya just can't get mad at him. We can't imagine life without this little boy!!!He emptied an entire box of tissues. "If ya can't beat um join um!" The boys had a great time throwing all the tissues in the air, and I had a nice big bag of tissues to clean with.
Tyson loves pouring things, especially crackers and water. In this case he poured fish crackers all over the floor, but it gave me 45 good mins to work on the yearbook.
Another obsession is shoes. It doesn't matter how high the heel is or how big the boot is he will try wearing it. I couldn't stop laughing watching him truck around the house in my boots!
He also climbs on anything and in everything. He is our little monkey!

What happened to the last two months???

What a busy couple of months. I have been knee deep in putting together the Yearbook for Noah's elementary school. I absolutely love doing it, but it is a huge project. Tommy has started down the road to trying to become a speaker for his company. He was putting in 8 hr days for several weeks just working on the presentation... so needless to say the blog didn't get updated. I've added a few new posts and will continue trying to catch up :)

Utah weather!

As fun as this looks I'm done with it. I love Utah, but the weather is killing me! I need some sunshine for more than just an hour or two.
At least the boys are enjoying it!

Farwell to Rosco...

We finally decided it was time for Rosco to find a new home. She was such a sweet dog and so good with the kids. Tyson and Rosco were best friends... but Rosco was big, had a lot of energy and shed more than we thought she would. So a very nice couple took her to live on their farm. Yes a real farm... not a 'puppy farm'!!!

More birthday for Cooper

The party just keeps going for Cooper's birthday! This was dinner and birthday dessert at G&G Pete's house. Cooper's request was homemade donuts!

Cooper's Star Wars Party

All Cooper wanted for his birthday was Star Wars, Streamers, and a Poster... Pretty simple request, it's us as parents that can't keep things simple! What a fun party it was though. He invited 12 friends and every single one of them came. We started off the party with games. First being the Star Wars Meteor hunt, we wrapped candy in tin foil to look like meteors and then hid them around the house. Then they played Meteor Shower, we filled balloons with confeitti and a bouncy ball and the meteors can raining down on top of them and they had to pop the balloon to get the prize. Some kids loved this, others you could see covering their ears and retreating to a safer place. Then we played a balloon musical pass game... I can't for the life of me remember what we called it though. That was much more mellow and everyone like that. Then we had cupcakes and opened presents. After that they each got their own light saber (a pool noodle cut in half with black tape on the bottom for the handle... Tommy can tell you how hard and expensive it is to find pool noodles in January). That's when the real fun began. One of our friends let us borrow his fog machines... so the house was filled with fog, the kids were given instruction on how to fight Dark Vader and the battle began. You can see from the 'foggy' pictures below they had a great time. A BIG thank you goes out to Tommy and Kiara... I couldn't have pulled this one off without them!Presents and cupcakes
Meteor shower game... notice the streamers, they were all over the house :)
The whole group ready to eat cupcakes
Fighting Darth Vader!
Fighting a Clone Trooper (thanks Kiara for letting the kids beat up on you)
The loot! Cooper's friends and family really spoiled him.

Cooper's 5th Birthday

I can't believe my CoopyDoo is 5 years old. He is such a joy. Anyone who knows Tommy well will agree that Cooper is his father's son. He's funny, stubborn, can put a smile on your face and make you want to spank him all at the same time. He is such a good friend to those around him and is lucky to have so many good friends! We are so grateful for Cooper we can't imagine life without him!

Sorry about his hair... it's out of control and we just didn't even attempt to make it look nice.Birthday morning
Opening presents and putting his light saber night light together.
Birthday dinner and presents with Grandma Leslie and Aunt Kiara
At pre-school Cooper got to wear a birthday crown and Miss Jenny gave him a 'HUGE' candy bar.
His truck from Grandpa Phil. It can jump over things...
Yes he has a doughnut face.... but he's excited about his new dinosaur!
