Sometimes I wonder....

what am I really teaching my kids? The reason I ask this question is because the other day Cooper came running out of his room clapping his hands yelling, "Yeah I didn't start a fire! Yeah, Mommy I didn't start a fire!!!" You could see how proud he was of himself and I'm sure you would have seen a very confused look on my face. I followed up with the normal questions you ask a 3 year old to figure out what in the heck they are talking about. I finally realized he had unplugged his Laptop (Tommy's old one, we use it for a DVD player) by himself. When teaching him safety around outlets I told him it could shock you or it could start a fire... since fire is easier for him to understand we went with that. Hence the I unplugged it and no fire start, I'm one awesome kid! Let's just hope he doesn't experiment any more.

Lesson learned...

Yesterday I was reading through Noah's school news letter in which they had a section about yearbooks and asked for volunteers to help with it. Since I loved yearbook in high school and enjoy taking pictures I figured why not help out. So I sent an email off to the PTA volunteering to help. I got an email back last night saying, "We'd love you to be in charge...". They didn't do a yearbook last year (and I'm not sure the school has ever done one) so I'm starting from scratch. After looking into it I'm getting more excited about the whole thing. And I think it will actually be a lot of fun... but I've also learned to be careful what you volunteer for!

My new blog...

Since I'm terrible at scrapbooking and to lazy to keep a journal I've decided to use my blog as a record of what the Peterson family is doing. Which for you guys means lots more Kristine ramblings. Yes, this blog is probably more for me than anyone else, but if you want to check in every so often and make comments I'd love it! So here goes nothing...

BYU's meet the team night

I love our annual trip to the BYU meet the team night. We've been looking forward to it for a while now since the blue and white game and women's clinic were canceled this year. Thank goodness Tommy was here this year... he and Emerson did the hour long wait in line, all I can say is one of those players needs to go pro so that poster is worth something some day. The autograph thing went better this year than in years past, but I'm pretty sure the favorite thing of the night was the balloon swords, only had to wait a min for those! After all of that we went back to the Peterson's for Pizza and smores. I love hangin' out with family and friends, what a great way to spend a day!

Picnic at the park

It was such a nice day we just couldn't pass up going to the park. A quick trip to Arby's drive through and then we met my mom at the park. The kids had a great time on the toys and us girls enjoyed visiting. Tyson was a champ and just chilled out in his stroller the whole time. Sometimes I worry I'm going to leave that kid somewhere because he's so good it's easy to forget he's even there.

After the park we headed to Kiara's house to cool off in the water.

Meteor Shower

There was no way we were going to miss the meteor shower, especially since we live in such a great place to watch it. So out came the sleeping bags and treats! We bundled Tyson up nice and warm and started watching. We didn't get to see as many as I'd hoped for, but we all got to see some. Cooper only lasted about 30 mins and he was out. Kiara and I made it until about 1am, I woke up at 2am and was freezing cold. Cooper is a wild sleeper and was not longer in his sleeping bag, so the sleepover on the trampoline came to an end. It took me back to the good ol' days when I'd sleep out on my friend's trampoline and we'd stay up all night talking. Being a kid is fun!Noah, Kiara, Tyson, and Cooper (hiding in his sleeping bag)

Tyson's blessing

On July 19th we blessed Tyson. It was a last minute decision since all of Tommy's family was in town. It was also the first Sunday as a new ward (we just got split). The blessing was wonderful and the Fondue party afterward was a ton of fun.

We just absolutely adore little Tyson. He is such a great baby and has such a sweet spirit about him. We truly feel bless to have him as part of our family. Every time I look at my boys I can't help but be thankful for the wonderful blessing they are in my life.

July: Cousins, Cousins, and more Cousins...

We were lucky enough to have all of Tommy's family together in July. It just happened to work out that Matt and Emily were here for a wedding, Jodi was here for a visit as she and her kids moved from TX to WA, Dave was able to get a few days of leave before he deployed and flew in from TX, so of course the Randall's made another trip up from St. George. Plus Nate and Shelly had their baby. We were so busy it was just crazy, but we have great memories from the time we had together! Here are some pictures:

Time Out...

Just because you're playing with your cousins does not mean you're exempt from time out! It means you all get to sit in time out together. One of these days they'll learn to obey - right?

July: Cousin Dallin's Birthday

At the end of July we got to celebrate Dallin's 5th birthday. We started out with bowling at BYU, which was so much fun we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves, then pizza, cake, and ice cream back and Grandma and Grandpa's house.Dallin and Cooper bowling.
Noah showing off his awesome bowling skills.
Cooper lost interest in bowling and decided that this was way more awesome.
Grandpa helping Cooper bowl. This was his last time, Grandpa had to finish his game.
Grandma Roma holding Tyson and Jodi with Molly Pop.
And Dallin's the big winner. Yes he used the ramp and bumpers but still 109 is awesome. Noah was just behind him with 100.
I love this little girl (Molly) she is so adorable!

July: A trip up to SLC with family

We decided to take a trip up to Salt Lake with Jodi and her kids before they left for Washington. It was such a fun day and all the kids had a blast.Cooper, Dallin, Abe, and Noah. It was so hard for them to sit still for this picture. I took about 6 and this was the best I could come up with. They also had a hard time not touching the water behind them.
The Salt Lake Temple.
Church Office Building. I just really like this picture. The boys loved looking up at how tall the building was.
A quick lunch at Lion House.
Noah and Cooper

Playing in the water at Gateway. After Temple Square the kids needed to get all their wiggles out and cool off.
Then we headed over to Clark's Planetarium. It's such a fun place for the kids to be able to touch anything and everything they want and not get in trouble. This picture is walking on Mars.
Dallin and Cooper walking on the moon.

Another Cousin!

Our cute little nephew Owen was blessed on Aug 9th. He is exactly 6 weeks younger than Tyson. The blessing was wonderful. After the blessing we went back to their house for lunch.
The family: Nate, Shelly, and baby Owen.
Four generations: Grandpa Great (Wells), Nate, Owen, and Grandpa (Paul)

$2 Tuesdays at Thanksgiving Point

Every Tuesday in the month of August Thanksgiving point does $2 Tuesdays. Since our annual pass expired we decided to take advantage of the good deal and go to the Dinosaur Museum... I think everyone else in Utah had the same idea. The kids didn't mind fighting the crowds and still managed to have fun. I however decided it's time to buy another annual pass!Noah, Cooper, Cy, and Jordan digging up dinosaur bones
